Calls for the Pacific Islands Forum to intervene in Nauru

Political analyst and founder of Devpacific Thinknet, Tess Newton-Cain, has long been critical of the way the rule of law is being applied in Nauru.

She has previously called on the Pacific Islands Forum to show leadership and invoke sanctions available to it under the Biketawa Declaration.

She says the Forum offered assistance to Nauru at the government's invitation from 2004 to 2009, but in the current climate, intervention would appear to be the only option.
